Abstract
The paper presents a coordinated day-ahead and intra-day approach for the
scheduling of the resources in a local energy community (LEC). The considered
LEC consists of a collective of power prosumers that can directly trade energy
with each other in addition to the external provider. The scheduling approach
is based on the alternating direction method of multipliers and aims at
minimizing the total energy procurement costs, assuring that each participant
has an economical advantage in being part of the community. To cope with the
uncertainties of the renewable power generation and consumption during the day,
a day-ahead multistage stochastic optimization approach is combined with an
intra-day rolling-horizon optimization procedure. The effectiveness of the
approach is supported by numerical simulations for several case studies in
which the LEC prosumers are either connected to the same low-voltage network or
directly to the medium-voltage level.
